Sisters from another Mister

This is a picture of a hen that adopted a group of baby chicks that were already 2 months old and treated them like newborns. I had never seen such a thing in all my years of farming. 

Some of the attributes of God are female. After all he created man and woman in His image. I think about this verse, that appears in Isaiah as well as the Book of Matthew, that he tried to gather us like a mother hen gathers her chicks, but that we wouldn’t come. Like this mother hen, all he wants to do is love us, care for us, provide for us and protect us. Those same young hens ,as soon as it started to get dark, they would all try to get under her at once. Some of them being even bigger than her, it was quite hilarious. It makes me think of how we respond when we get in a bad place and we have nowhere to turn. Often it is at that time that we turn to God.

Let me tell you from personal experience, it’s always good to be there close to God when something happens and not try to get there afterwards. When something goes wrong and immediately a verse pops into your head and promise from God  to encourage you, to keep you from fear , to help you to trust in him . I encourage all of my” Sisters from another Mister” to EVERYDAY seek God and his word, so when the day of adversity comes you will be ready to stand against all the tricks of the devil. Even Jesus used God’s word, the sword of the spirit, the only offensive weapon we have in the armor of God, to stave off the temptations the devil was throwing at him. Even the devil knows scripture but twists the meaning to catch us in his snare. Being in the word everyday helps us to know the difference between Satan’s voice and Gods.

Dear Lord I pray for me and everyone reading this ,that you would put a hedge of protection around them. Your word says your angels encamp around us I pray that for them. I pray for them to have a thirst for your word each and every day .  And whatever trial or difficulty they are going through right now Lord that they would remember your promises and how your thoughts for them are more than there are grains of sand. I pray Lord they would feel your loving arms as you walk through this fallen world with them. I pray Lord that you would help them to remember that everything is temporary here and that if we keep our minds on things above eternal things ,it helps us to realize this life is just a vapor soon to be gone. And those of us who have called on the name of Jesus will be in that place with you for eternity. You know that place where there are many mansions ,no more tears, no more sorrow, no more sickness, no more suffering. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for us to cover our sins, so that we can have our name in The Book of Life. I pray Lord help us to remember that especially to those who are walking through the valley of the shadow of death that they would fear no evil that your rod and staff would comfort them and they would remember , if they have called out to you that they will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. In Jesus precious name, amen
